I started to get into 3d modeling during high school which was over by 2009, I started with Blender and proceeded to branch into 3ds max, a little bit of maya and eventually was recommended Zbrush in college. Though I have not done any professional work with my 3d modeling skills and now consider this more of a hobby, I am always thinking of how to tackle certain creatures, objects and environments in 3d space. Below are the two biggest examples I can give for my skills which are not just limited to 3d modeling but rigging, skinning and animating.
Ghomp was an idea I had of a giant ogor like creature with a powerful expanding jaw and super thick and strong teeth, the premise is that he would grab you and then chomp on you thus the name ghomp. Ghomp was made using Zbrush.
Leviathan was the first boss in the One Shot project I have outlined in the game design section of my portfolio and is fully rigged and animated by myself for the game. He is a giant tunneling snake that can fire lasers from the giant red eye on his head, and once his drill snaps together he could dig. I started modeling a low poly version of him in 3ds max and then imported him over to Z Brush to handle detail, UV mapping and color he was then brought back over to 3ds max for rigging/skinning and eventually animated for the One Shot project.
